 SENIOR SOFTWARE ENGINEER – CLOUD COMPUTING - We are looking for a motivated software professional to work in the engineering group of an innovative software company. We take cutting edge Artificial Intelligence algorithms and apply them to a variety of complex problems; one of these problems involves a larger cloud of remote machines used to provide compute capacity for our software. We are looking for someone who can work in our compute capacity group to maintain and expand its capabilities. This is a position that requires a wide range of skills, Linux and Windows, client and server, networking, DB and Web programming. To be a successful candidate you will need to have demonstrable “jack of all trades” experience. RESPONSIBILITIES
- Previous experience leading and growing a product development team, including engineering, quality assurance, product management, build, release and documentations.
- Proven track record of providing technical leadership, establishing a roadmap and shepherding code from conception to a mature released product.
- A hands on management capability with the ability to do everything from writing code , developing the overall product design and architecture and seeing that architecture through to production by leading a product development team.
REQUIREMENTS
- Previous experience in a startup environment leading and growing a product development team.
- A strong technical understand of cloud computing, client-server architecture, operation of large scale computing infrastructures.
- Excellent presentation skills with the ability to interact with external customers, board members, and other executives.
- Ability to grow a product development team, both organically as well as knowing how and went to outsource.
DESIRED SKILLS
- Experience working with large scale compute systems such as AWS or BOINC
- Design and develop software solutions for Windows and Linux/Unix.
- Familiar with Visual Studios and Eclipse IDE.
- RMDB knowledge - MySQL, SQLite, Sybase, Oracle, etc.
- Client/Server software design and development concepts
- Web programming - AJAX/Web 2.0, HTTP, PHP, GWT, etc.
- General Network knowledge
- Good written and oral communication skills
